The SOLACE Summit is the UK’s largest gathering of local authority Chief Executives and senior managers. Between 16th and 18th October it will be the meeting place for leaders in public service management.

The Summit is a call to local government chief executives and senior managers – and our partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors – to come together, to learn, to debate and to shape local government’s programme of action.

The SOLACE Summit pioneers new and innovative modes of participation, collaboration and facilitated learning.  In 2012 it will include a select number of high quality speakers, and five workstreams to provide inspiration, provocation and encourage participation and collaboration.

Every year the SOLACE Summit is a unique and unrivalled opportunity for senior management professionals to engage in peer-to-peer learning and provided new entrepreneurial opportunities for dialogue and shared endeavour and with new and existing contacts.

SOLACE is the representative body for senior strategic managers working in the public sector in the UK. We are committed to promoting public sector excellence.  We provide our members with opportunities for personal and professional development, and seek to influence debate around the future of public services to ensure that policy and legislation are informed by the experience and expertise of our members.  Whilst the vast majority of SOLACE members work in local government we also have members in senior positions in health authorities, police and fire authorities and central government.

Membership of SOLACE is open to Chief Executives, Senior Managers, Aspiring Managers and Graduates of all UK local authorities and public sector related organisations.
